TV Pumpkins

The Walking Dead
In case you aren't clear, I mean the entire series, based on the graphic novel of the same name.

Oh The Walking Dead, you have so much of what ordinary dramas without zombies lack.  Heart!  This show is filled with heart.  It involves people struggling to survive;when have you ever seen anything zombie related, focus on the fact that these are still people who are struggling to move forward and to accept the world that they live in.  So many people have died, so many people have been killed, and sometimes it was done in the hope to save someone they loved.  Minus the heart, I must say that the show has one of the best special effects and makeup team in the business.  The zombies featured are flawless.  You can join in on the fun when a brand new season starts this Sunday.
You know what I just had to include the trailer!  Aside from showing how amazing season 2 will be, it is one of the best trailers I have ever seen in my life!  Also, if any of you are Love Actually fans, the show stars Andrew Lincoln.

Costume Director: Part 3

Olive Hoover from Little Miss Sunshine!  I've always wanted to see someone rock this, but I don't think that I live in the right community.

I think we all know what happens next.
You can pick from a variety of outfits, but a main ingredient is red.  Red hot shorts, red shirts, ties, etc. There's also the option of pink hot shorts and denim bermudas.  And alas there's the epic outfit: which you really have to watch the video above to understand why it's epic, but the photo below it is a teaser.

Make me proud.  Tootles.

The Horror Files: Devils and Witches

Rosemary's Baby (1968): First off, this film might just be propaganda for how amazing 60s mod was.  How do you not love Mia Farrow's haircut in the film?  I think Rosemary should have left her husband then and there.  She's such a sweet young lady, but if you kind of remember having unspeakable indiscretions when you were passed out, and your husband decides to tell you that he decided to make that baby you've been wanting, you don't stay with him; if he was telling the truth then that's rape!  But he wasn't telling the truth because he was making you have the child of Satan.
The Exorcist (1973):  A few ground rules, don't ever show this to a child.  It will traumatize them for the rest of their life.  It one of the scariest films I've ever seen hands down, and I will probably go to my grave saying that.  You know what it's about, it's in the title.  Watch at your own expense and thank me for not posting images of Linda Blair.
The Omen (1976): "It's all for you Damien."  In case you've been living under a rock, this is one of the greatest horror movies of all time.  It's chilling.  Damien is one of the many reasons that I don't trust kids in horror films.  Never trust a brooding child!  Oh by the way, he's the child of Satan.  That's why he's so evil!
Suspiria (1977): You know that moment in Juno when they're discussing the masters of gore and Juno is totally in defense of Dario Argento?  Well I might be too.  This film is stunning.  First and foremost, it's a horror film done in technicolor and it might just be the last of its kind!  Second, it's about a ballet academy with a lovely pink apartment setting!  I personally love when horror films start off with such beautiful images, but about 10 minutes into the film you'll understand why anyone would call Argento the best of anything. Oh, and it's about a witches coven too, cue why weird stuff keeps happening.
The Blair Witch Project (1999): Well it starts off slow.  And then it goes slow. And then it goes slow.  But when it ends you're left wondering what the heck just happened!  Then people started talking and that's how you make one of the most successful horror films of all time with little to no budget.  And a few years later, the world is still inspired to do mockumentary's.

The Not So Spooky: Casper

I will be the first to say that Although I love October I really hate scary movies. So I thought I would share one of my favorite Halloween movies that are not so scary. One of them is Casper!

Casper is a little ghost with such a kind heart, and when Kat Harvey (Christina Ricci) and her dad move to the abandoned house in which Casper and three other ghost live, the friendly ghost develops somewhat of a crush for her.

Everything is not all so sweet, Casper's three ghost uncles: Stretch, Fatso, and Stinkie, try to drive off any living human being that moves into their house. This results in many mischevious pranks performed by the three of them.

Throughout the movie, Kat and her dad try to make the ghosts realize that their time on this Earth is over and it is time for them to move on to "the other side"

Now these are some of my favorite scenes from the movie.

When Casper says "Can I keep you", it basically makes my heart melt. And dancing in the air? Pretty awesome!

And also when Kat sits on this conveyer belt chair thing and it brushes her hair and teeth. We all need one of these in our lives.

and last but not least, another sweet Kat and Casper scene...

 Happy October!

Costume Director: Part 2

A Macintosh Apple!  Steve Jobs just died and what better way to honor the co-founder of Macintosh than dress as the logo of one of his greatest gifts?!
I don't have an actual picture of a costume because I don't think it exists.  Advice you can buy the plain costume and cut out your bite or DIY.  I recommend DIY, so here's what you do:
1) Cut out 2 pieces of fabric in the shape of a bitten apple, bonus points if you go for the original Macintosh colors, whatever works for you is fine.  Oh, and I shouldn't have to say it, but I will, make sure that you are gonna fit into it when this project is done!
2) Sew the pieces together, leaving holes for your head, legs, and right arm (your left arm will go through the bitten piece).
3) Attach a leaf shaped piece of fabric. Make sure it sticks out in the same direction of your bitten portion.
4) Put it on, and rock your Halloween night away!

Make Steve Jobs proud! Tootles.

Cutie Patootie of the Week

And the win goes to Adam Brody!  Oh dearest Adam, you are one of those guys whose personality and looks I will never get over!  Seriously! I don't think he will ever understood how seriously good looking he is!
First off, he's super funny!
Second, his hair is spectacular!
Third, he's my second favorite Jew!

Fourth, Seth Cohen is one of my all time favorite TV characters!
Fifth, he has a dog named Penny Lane!
Sixth, he isn't afraid to call out actors that claim to hate paparazzi and all that media junk, bluntly saying that they have a choice to quit! And yeah, he worked with said actor.

Lastly, he's Adam Brody!
I just love Adam Brody! You can now rent or buy Scream 4, which I highly recommend.  It's witty and a bit shocking.
